Taylor

Taylor Swift, the rarest pop star, is one who has managed to cross between the genres of country and mainstream pop culture, becoming an idol of the pop culture. She also conquered every continent through her music. Swift shed her country roots like they were a second skin, revealing she was possibly the most savvy populist singer/songwriter of her generation one that could tap into the zeitgeist make it personal and just as impressively perform opposite. This was evident in her first hits, particularly the Neo-tribute Tim McGraw but her second album 2008's Fearless showed a writer discovering who she was and in the process finding a mass audience. Fearless became a massive success not just in America, where six of its singles have been certified platinum on the back of Top Ten hit songs Love Story and You Belong with Me. But it also performed well around all over the world. Swift managed to build upon her success through Speak Now almost two year following. She grew in popularity over the course of the three albums that followed - Red (2012), 1989 (2014) and Reputation (2017). Swift had now established herself in the genre she was a part of. However, even when she reduced her strategy with 2020's stripped down sister album folklore, and Evermore she was still atop the pop world a position she kept with the re-recordings of her earlier catalog, as well as Midnights the top charting synth heavy 2022 collection.
