Lucy-Liu

Lucy Liu is an American actor, voice actress, director producer, and vocalist. She's a beautiful, intelligent actress who inspires numerous Asian actors to succeed in Hollywood. In the wake of a number of first appearances on popular TV shows, she gained fame after joining the cast of the legal comedy show Ally McBeal where she played the villainous Ling Woo. Her new-found fame was translated into roles for the big screen with Shanghai Noon, Charlie's Angels and several other films. After that, she delivered an excellent performance in Quentin Tarantino Kill Bill Volume 1 as Japanese crime-lord O Ren Ishii. Also, she portrayed leading roles in box office failures such as Rise: Blood Hunter. In the following years, she started voicing characters from animated films like Kung Fu Panda or Tinker Bell. The small screen role of Mia Mason in Cashmere Mafia failed to produce results. A recurring role in the critically acclaimed police drama Southland helped re-establish herself as an actress of note. Liu is very careful in picking her roles to ensure that she does not become typecast within a highly competition-driven industry. She has accepted her Chinese roots however she has not let them limit her artistically.
