Anna Paquin
Anna Paquin was born in Wellington, Manitoba. She grew up there. She made her acting debut as Flora McGrath in her character in the romance film Piano. The actress was chosen to play Flora McGrath the daughter of the muffled Scottish pianist who, in the late 19th century relocates to New Zealand for an arranged wedding when she answered an audition for open casting when she was just nine years old, and had no prior experience in acting. As a teenager her family left Canada to the United States. Paquin was cast as the child title in Franco Zeffirelli's Jane Eyre in the year 1996. In addition, she played a leading part in Fly Away Home, a film that was released in the same year. Paquin was in the role of Frankie Addams, a character from Carson McCullers' novel The Member of the Wedding in 1997. In Steven Spielberg's Amistad in 1997 in which she played the queen of Spain in a less prominent part.
